There are a number of different questions that you might have when you are looking at hiring a maid service. While this might not answer all of your questions it is here to help answer some of the most common questions that we come across. How much does a House Cleaning Service Cost?
When we are looking at this question it is hard to give a straight forward answer. The simple fact of the matter is that every home is different and depending on what you need to have done will determine the type of pricing you would look at. You will want to find a maid service that is able to provide you with an individual pricing based on your needs. There are a few items that will ultimately affect the price of your cleaning estimate. Those items would include items such the size of your home, number of bathrooms, number of pets, number of people that live in the home, and how frequently you are going to need a maid service. Generally you should be able to find how much you should expect to pay with a quick interview over the phone or in person. The more that you are able to inform the cleaning service about your needs the better the estimate will be.
Will the Maid Service Cost the Same Amount Every Time?
This is the question that usually follows up the previous question and again there is no straight forward answer to this. Depending on what you need to have cleaned will determine the pricing. There are some companies out there that will charge you by the hour while there are others that might charge you by the room. The one thing that you should keep in mind is the first visit is generally more than any other visit because they need to do a deep cleansing and then everything after that would be maintenance. You will also want to consider the type of service that you are receiving. For example if you are moving to a bigger home the move out cleaning service would be less than the move in cleaning service. This would be due to the increase in the space that needs to be cleaned you might have extra rooms that will need to be cleaned. You will also want to take into account that you might pay more if you have a maid service for your commercial cleaning such as at your office.
Do I Need to be Home When the Maid Service Cleans?
Many places allow you to make this decision on your own. Generally you should be able to give them a key that would not be able to be identified other than their tracking method. You will also want to note that generally the maids are given the keys in the morning and have to return them in the evening. For those that might need to work you will need to make sure that you give them any security system information to allow them access to your home. You would also want to make sure that if you have pets that might not like sharing their space with someone that they are not familiar with that you lock them in an area where the maid service will not be working.
Do I have a Specific Time Slot Available for my House Cleaning?
While many maid services are able to schedule you a specific date and a round about time that you should expect them. The problem with scheduling a specific time is that the house that they need to do before you might run longer and they do not want to make promises that they do not tend to keep. This is generally a good thing. You should be able to contact the maid service company on your scheduled date and get an estimated time of arrival but if one job runs long or another gets cancelled this would put them at your home later than expected or sooner than you might expect them.
How do I Reschedule my House Cleaning Appointment?
This answer will vary depending on the maid service company that you select. There are some maid companies out there that ask for forty eight hour notice and there are others that prefer twenty four hour notice. You will need to make sure that you go over the specifics of your maid service as to what they require for notice. Basically they want to be able to fill your spot because they do not overbook their maids and would like to be able to continue to ensure quality service.
What if I Accidentally Lock Out my Maid Service Professional?
Depending on the maid service professional that you select will determine what if any fees will be associated with this type of situation. There are some maid companies out there that have cancellation fees and generally will charge you a cancellation fee if they are not able to gain access and work on your home. You will also want to keep in mind that the maid company will not be able to clean your home if they are not able to gain access to your home. This is one of the reasons that it is recommended that you give the maid service professional a key to your home even if you plan on being there when they get there. This will help out if you have to step out for a bit while you are waiting on the house cleaning service.
Should I Still Set my Alarm System when I Expect the Maids to Enter?
The ultimate answer to this question comes down to what you feel comfortable with. There are some out there that do not set their alarm when they are expecting the maid service company. There are some out there that will give the maid service company a temporary access number that they are able to change the same day. There are others out there that give the access number to their system to the maid service company and have them disarm and rearm their system. Basically depending on what you feel comfortable with you will also want to make sure that you really check out the cleaning service
Where Should I put my pets During the House Cleaning Process?
Many companies are fine with pets as long as they are friendly. For those out there that might have pets that are not friendly should be locked up in a part of the home where the home cleaning company will not be cleaning. For those with friendlier pets you might want to provide any useful information that will allow the maid service to better acclimate your pet to the present of people that they are not familiar with. This might be things such as their names, favorite toys, or where you keep their treat.
Are my Valuables Safe with a Cleaning Service?
The one thing that you should understand is that the better quality maid service that you get the better off that you are. Basically you should be able to put away valuables in a closed room or drawer and feel confident that they will not be messed with. The next thing that you should keep in mind is when you are initially setting up service with the maid company that you talk to them about their hiring process. You will want to make sure that they do a background check and that they screen their employees before they hire them. This should reduce any fears that you might have.
What Cleaning Materials do I need to Provide for the Cleaning Service?
Depending on the cleaning company that you selected will determine what cleaning supplies that you might need to provide. There are some cleaning companies out there that are able to provide all of the cleaning materials down to the broom and dust pan. There are other cleaning services where you are responsible for providing all of the cleaning material that is used in your home. These are items that you will want to talk to the cleaning company about before you schedule a cleaning appointment. For those out there that might have particular cleaning supplies that you want to be used in your home and you will want to talk to the cleaning company prior to the maid service professionals arriving.
